Moving rental bundle changes – starting June 1, 2011

Starting June 1, 2011, we will be offering a new set of bundles for our customers. Now you can rent moving boxes in sets of 15, 25, 35, or 45. Being able to offer bundles in smaller increments allows us to better service the many different sized homes and unique needs across Toronto and the surrounding areas. As always, deliveries and pickups within our delivery zone are free!

These bundles and prices will be in effect for all reservations starting on June 1, 2011.

Recycling Numbers

Have you ever wondered what those recycling numbers you see on the bottom of most plastic containers mean? Many people think that it means the container itself has been recycled or how many times it can be used, but that’s not the case.

The number is actually used to identify different types of plastics, and groups them by how easy they are to recycle. Generally speaking, lower numbers are easier to recycle vs. higher numbers.

Here’s a quick summary of examples of each type of plastic.

Polyethylene terephthalate: Soda bottles, water bottles, beer bottles, mouthwash bottles, peanut butter containers, salad dressing, vinegar bottles, medicine containers, backing for photography film.
High-density Polyethylene: Containers for household cleaners, fabric softeners, bleach, milk, shampoo, conditioner, motor oil, various toys.
Polyvinyl cloride: Pipes, fencing, shower curtains, meat wraps, baby bottle nipples, shrink wrap, and clear medical tubing.
Low-density Polyethylene: Plastic bags, 6-pack rings, sandwich bags.
Polypropylene: Auto-parts, some Tupperware

Price and Delivery Area Changes

Price and Delivery Area changes.

Now that our inaugural year is over, we’ve had a better chance to access the costs associated with our deliveries and have determined that our prices needed a slight readjustment. So, we’ve had to change our rental prices and delivery area accordingly.

Our new rental prices are:
15 Boxes for 2 weeks – $90
30 Boxes for 2 weeks – $120
45 Boxes for 2 weeks – $150

Our new extensions prices will be:
15 Boxes – $30/week
30 Boxes – $45/week
45 Boxes – $60/week

Our new deliver area now mainly covers the downtown core from the 427 to the DVP, and from the 401 to Lakeshore. We will continue to deliver outside these areas for a small additional cost, based on mileage.

We’re hoping that these small changes will allow us to grow and service the GTA better and more efficiently.
